Today "may well be New Zealand's darkest day"

This afternoon tragedy struck again.  I am lucky - all my immediate family safe and accounted for although my mum's home has suffered some damage and loads of breakages.  Tomorrow will bring very bad news to many - and in such a small country so many of us will know people who have been killed.  Our city is devastated.  

The afternoon and evening have been full of aftershocks as high as 5 and the rumble before they hit is terrifying.  I don?t want to go to bed, but I should cos I am tired.  We now have power but this photo is from around 7.30pm when Dave was trying to keep our spirits up.
