It is wednesday!
Its the time of year for moorland burning. Here is a sketch of the area known as the Forest of Bowland (in historical times forest - hunting) and you can see two fires. It's to provide young shoots for the young grouse to feed on later in the season. The downside is that Hen Harriers that nest on the ground lose out for nest sites and habitat. So a tension - you vote for red grouse that are shot for game or the conservation of Hen Harriers, the latter are now extremely rare
