A Photographic Mind

The alpha and omega.

On 29th October I was in Hereford for the Photography Festival, where I am a Patron. The cathedral close opposite the Art Gallery has been tarted up, with gates and paving and railings. At the main doorway there are new gates, where I noticed the Alpha and Omega symbols catching the low sunlight. As a Humanist I know about the "Alpha" course. In Humanism we have courses that are called Omega courses in response - we say that they are the last course that you need to take to understand the meaning of life. So it was a nice irony to find on the cathedral gates that the symbol that had the lock was the Omega, not the Alpha. And a nice way to start this journal of the "Daily Details" of my life.
