Singapore

I had to get up at 6am and take a taxi to the airport with one of the other guests from the wedding to split the costs. We arrived with a couple of hours to spare before our flights. I slept most of the flight and arrived in Singapore shortly after midday. The last time I was in Singapore was pretty much exactly 10 years ago so it doesn't really count.

I got the MRT train to my hostel and checked in to the dorm. For the same reason that I had to use dorms in Australia, I'm forced to here because everything is just so expensive. I headed to Little India and had some delicious lunch at a place specialising in chapatis. I went to the cinema to see the Entourage movie and book my ticket for the opening day of Jurassic World.

I spent the evening in Chinatown exploring the streets and having dim sum (including one which had a soup inside). Singapore is celebrating 50 years of independence, hence the SG 50 written on these lanterns.

I like the mixture of interesting streets, delicious varied food and modern western comforts (similar to Bangkok, I guess) but I just wish it was affordable.
