For I am as mysterious as the  moon. As silent as a sigh.

You do not see me. But you feel my presence.

I come and I go, unnoticed. I see all. I say nothing.

I am responsible for the claw-marks on the sofa that appear from nowhere.

When a mystery poop appears in the catbox with no sound of scratching or burying. I am already out of sight, licking myself in places.

It is I who lies in wait for a dangled foot over the edge of the bed.

It is I who appears at midnight, staring at you with two luminous eyes after you've seen a horror film and were feeling a bit freaked-out anyway.

It is I who arrives, silent on your bedside table at 3am in the morning to take a good hearty drink out of your glass of water. Mmmm. Refreshing.

And when the bare foot of destiny finds the cold cat sick of reality on the floor of inevitability. You can blame...
