Sunlight
Well, Port Sunlight to be precise. I've been to Port Sunlight quite a few times but today was the first time I'd been there on my own with as much time as I wanted for just wandering around the village. It is amazing.
If you are not aware of its history it is a village which build between 1899 and 1914 by the Lever Brothers to house the workers at their new soap factory. They built a village with high quality housing, open spaces, gardens and allotments - a stark contrast to the slums which housed the workers in Manchester and Liverpool.
The Lever name lives on as the latter part of Unilever.
