inspired by woolly flowers
I stopped in Kirkland this morning after attending a fascinating talk about industry along the river Kent. I was looking for the woolly knitting that Adrienne Wilson and her band of keen knitters had been working on for months. Their aim was to publicise the qualities of British wool, cheer us all up with a bit of street art, and to have fun.
Had they chosen to display their work a week earlier, they would have coincided with a week of sun and dry weather. As it was, the knitting has had to cope with the worst that Kendal weather can throw at it. It all looks a bit like a field of soggy sheep feeling sorry for themselves. However, I hope the knitters aren't too disappointed.
I found some real gems - sheep, flowers and stripey scarves. It certainly brightened up my day.
