This tick-set gentleman with snow on the roof was perusing the latest edition of 'What Hi-Fi' magazine. His expression hung somewhere between disgust and intrigue. I have to say, he didn't really look the way I'd have imagined the readers of What Hi-Fi to l00k. If pressed, I'd have to say I saw Mr Average Reader with a neatly trimmed goatee beard, clad in black polo necks, living in an apartment (not a flat) full of stripped pine and espresso machines, worrying that the rise of the MP3 has corrupted the ears of the next generation....
I would have hung around to see whether Snowy actually bought the magazine - but sadly I needed to get back to my desk. There were stories waiting to be written!
