St Serf's Kirk

This charming 12/13thc Kirk sits in the centre of the village of Dunning Perthshire, built with local pinkish/ red sandstone. Still the parish church, step inside & view the 9thc Dupplin Cross, mediaeval carved stone cross, taken indoors now to protect it from the elements.
The village was destroyed by fire in 1715 when the Jacobites marched back north after the Battle of Sheriffmuir close by! Most of the buildings date back from mid 18thc onwards.

An exceptionally wet day, heavy rain! Lovely lunch with friends of old nearby here!
You'll be thinking I'm a lady who lunches only!!! I do work sometimes!
