Shenée For The Day
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
I was not expecting a big day today but we had planned to catch up with Shenée and Craig at the Old Beach Cafe in Paekakariki and then head down to Plimmerton to pop in and say hi to Jefe and Manda.
Our plans went awry early on. "Jefe is naked on the couch playing with his Playstation," texted Manda.
I do hope this wasn't a euphemism.
But we had a lovely morning with Shenée and Craig. The Old Beach Cafe is a doggy-friendly place to Feefs and Shenée spent their time going back and forth, loving all the doggies.
I was planning to go home afterward but Caro and Feefs were going shopping. "You could come with US!" beamed Shenée.
It turns out she is trying to introduce a new couple to the group called Maja and Jacob, a young Polish couple she has adopted purely on the grounds that Maja also likes horses.
"And do you also like games and movies and.... musicals...??" I asked them.
"Oh f*ck AWF with your Hamilton," said Shenée in her accent.
Ellie also came along with Aubrey, who sat wearing her unicorn scooter helmet the entire time. Ellie amused us by relating the story of how Aubrey had escaped and run amok in The Warehouse earlier that day.
"She likes to spring out on old people from behind clothing racks," Ellie explained.
So that was a fun lunch. And afterward I got to spend time with Shenée and Craig with their chickens and horses. It is where they are happiest and it's lovely to see them like that.
I got home at about 5pm to find a good shopping trip had been had. Feefs had managed to get herself suitable clothes for a Funeral Director's Assistant* and even though Caro did not buy much, she seemed really happy.
This visit from Feefs has done so much for Caro's mood. It feels like we are on an upward path.

* Black skirt, black blazer, white blouse, sensible shoes and a "nude" bra. "I f*ckin' HATE nude bras!" said Feefs with disgust.
