New sofa
The observant will notice that this isn't a picture of a sofa, but a blue hydrangea. I shall explain....
A while ago we went to a makers fair in Dol-de-Bretagne and on our way back we looked in a few shop windows and an old fashioned furniture shop had some nice things in the window.
We don't have a proper sofa having decided to buy a nice John Lewis one, only to have Brexit scupper our plans and so we didn't buy one and while the house has been rebuilt we've not bought one in France either.
We started looking here a few months ago, but they are expensive and mostly not to our taste, but today we went back to the shop in Dol to see if they had anything on-sale. We've tried all the other furniture shops locally and not found anything we like or could afford.
We took the train down to Dol and explorderd this wonderfully old-fashioned furniture shop with a wide range of things. We found a nice Italian sofa in bold yellow that was nice, a good price and with a different colour fabric would have been perfect and a French sofa we'd seen in the window previously that was a shop display model and ready to go at a discount and was blue.
Both were nice, expensive but within budget and quite different but good options. The blue one won out being slightly cheaper, ready now and already in a beautiful blue colour.
On the way back from the shop to the station we spotted this hydrangea plant with these pretty flowers.
Back blip.
