More clearing

Bit of a disrupted nights sleep despite the better mattress, but woke up to frost and a blue sky so sorted myself out and headed down to P’s.
Decided to start on clearing out the chests of drawers and bedside tables so I’ll be able to have them ready for the furniture collection I’ve arranged with a charity. Found a couple of interesting things (gold fob watch, whole set of technical drawing instruments) and gathered bags of bed linen and towels and boxes of books. Took the assembled piles, along with a whole collection of lamps, the last of the paintings and some mirrors, a hostess trolley and a magazine rack to the charity shop. Did a bit of food shopping then back in time for someone to collect the corner display unit. Did some more clearing of papers in the study and the bathroom. Had to push myself to do it though….I’m still not getting enough of a sense of completion as all the rooms still have quite a lot in them.even though there’s been so many bags of rubbish and trips to the charity shop. Enjoyed packing some photo albums and found this photo of P and my Mum, taken probably about 40 years ago….not sure why they were looking so serious!
Drove back to K’s through a lovely sunset then settled to roast chicken dinner and Strictly, followed by old films and some chocolate.
