My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
The Princess may remember the occasion in 2015 when she, Brownie and I went to see "Mad Max: Fury Road" at the Dominion.
I'd got the time wrong or the day wrong or it had sold out or something.
Instead we went to the pub.
It was another great night at the cinema for us three.
But I managed to go see it (on my own) in 3D IMAX glory and I was completely overwhelmed by it. I'd loved Mad Max 2 as a kid and it struck me that Fury Road was on a par with it. Which I still find incredible.
Caro didn't get it at all. When I showed the movie to her she said, "Huh? It's just a big car chase?"
And I replied that NO, it was in fact THREE big car chases.
So when Mo asked if anyone wanted to see "Furiosa" this weekend I replied.
ME
ME
ME
I DO
ME
I do hope that I made myself clear to him.
I didn't bother to ask Caro.
Of course Jefe and Manda wanted to come too which of course meant IMAX. But this being a Mad Max movie I was for once on board with this.
The four of us got out to Lower Hutt and chatted and laughed and then VEHICULAR MAYHEM ENSUED.
I really enjoyed it. It suffers from being a prequel in that you know that Furiosa is never going to [SPOILER SPOILER] which is her main aim.
But Chris Hemsworth is a hoot and it's epic and action-packed and spectacular and I think there might be FOUR big car chases in this one, plus a few motorbike chases.
More importantly I got to spend a bit of time with Mo and Jefe and Manda. And also, we went to the pub after.
It was another great night at the cinema for us four.
