Sacrebleu

One of many

Two years ago, in celebration of its 150th birthday, the city of Rockville, MD welcomed the community to offer ideas on painting fire hydrants in the heart of town, and seven groups took them up on the offer.

Teenagers, Cub Scouts, seniors, historians, artists, scientists and stay-at-home moms all participated in this art project. This was such a great idea to involve the community not only in celebrating, but also in shaping, or in this case in painting and leaving a mark in their own town.

About 20 fire hydrants artfully painted can be discovered and admired in the streets, so expect to see more of those in the weeks to come, they are all so cute.
