Dotterel
Only ever seen one Dotterel before and that was an exceedingly distant view and Mrs L has never seen one, so we decided to have a wee twitch down to Fife for a pair that had been reported in a pea field at Carnbee.
As you can see from today's photo, they were still in their pea field, resting on their migration north to Scandinavia, or possibly these ones may be heading for the breeding grounds in the Cairngorms.
We then headed to Ruddons Point for a bit of sea watching, or maybe that should be Forth watching. Couldn't find the Surf Scoter, but there were some large flocks of Common Scoter that took the year list up to 134.
