Day Four: Not Available Elsewhere
Today we experienced something that is not available at home anymore...namely a proper Circus. The Hungarian State Circus is in a permanent, air-conditioned, building and features the full range of traditional circus acts: jugglers, trapeze, clowns (scary!), acrobats, contortionists, tight-rope walkers, horses, performing dogs, tigers, leopards and panthers over a two hour show for less than a tenner per person, extraordinary value and a stunning show. Slightly uneasy about performing tigers being trained to walk on two legs but the rest was fantastic and a heck of a lot cheaper than circuses at home (seems to be quite a few visiting locally recently). The rest of the day was spent exploring, drinking coffee and shopping in a great Sunday craft market. Wandered around in the evening looking for somewhere to eat and somehow ended up at an Irish pub.....which didn't seem fair really as we didn't visit any Hungarian pubs when we visited Ireland!
