Eagle

Today we walked around the summit of Le Bras towards the village of Villard-Reculas. We spotted around 20 birds of prey - they looked like eagles, but I always thought these birds were loners. However, looking on Google Image, I think they may be Short-toed Snake Eagles. They were just soaring effortlessly on the thermals, occasionally harassed by a crow when they got too close to the forest! This is the best shot I got as one left the larger group.

It was another tough decision on which photo to put up but I decided on this one as I am inspired by Anneke Esselman's bird photos and this was the best bird of prey shot I have captured to date!!
