Annapurna Base Camp!

Up at 4.30 to walk an hour and a half by torch light up to Annapurna Base Camp in order to watch the sun come up.
We had the perfect weather for it - having been told that the day before it was snowing, and then spending the 3 days afterwards in the rain we were definitely grateful for the clear morning that we had!

The photos I have of the mountains didn't really do them justice - several peaks forming a giant snowy basin - all up at around 7 or 8000 metres. We sat for some time watching the light change over them, and hearing numerous avalanches rumbling in the distance. Seeing one of the avalanches billow up as it cascaded down the mountainside was enough to put me off crawling up the sides of these beasts!

The walk back down to MBC felt incredibly easy after so many days of slogging uphill with our bags, and we carried on walking down all the way to Bamboo..
