Home at Last

The GOG took his own picture today and gave it a title, but the words are mine. I suspect now that he is home and has WiFi again he will soon be looking at your journals. Many thanks from me for all your good wishes for him while he was in hospital; let us hope it is a long time before he has to stay in again.

The GOG telephoned me at 0830 hours this morning to say he was ready to come home, the doctor was completing the form as he spoke to me; no hurry he said as his breakfast had just arrived.

I arrived at 0930 hours and discovered that before he had time to sign the form, the doctor had been called away to an emergency. We went for coffee, two lots, then back to the ward at 1100 hours; the doctor was still with the emergency. We went for a walk all the way round the outside of the hospital and then back inside for something to eat and more coffee. At 1330 hours his mobile rang, it was the ward to say the form had now been signed and he could go. They went through all has medication with him and then we escaped before they changed their minds.

He is back at Addenbrookes tomorrow for two clinic appointments, and then one on Wednesday; none are related to this injury. Then he has to see Dr Cunard at Papworth Hospital in two-week’s time for a follow-up consultation.
