Frogger

Cracking walk in the sun in Saltoun Big Wood with a pond offering up a load of newts and this teeny inch-long frog. All beautiful in the sun.

Day started very strangely without foxes, which was disappointing as Fi came round to see them, but an hour of waiting was fruitless. Still, breakfast in the sun catching up (he and Susan, who I used to work with, are not long back from a three year stay in France) was a really nice start to the day.

We entertained for dinner as well with George coming round in the middle of the days to go on the walk then hand around for Mel's lovely scallop starter, my cod and clam main, and Mel's rhubarb jelly dessert (the firs produce of the spring from out garden).

Lovely hoverfly
Later fox
Coot bow wave
Very blue bottle
