Joshua tree day 2 - Rusty cars and pretty faces

(Part of a series of backblips (see Day 1 here)
Day 2 of our trip began very early in the morning, having not slept very much; I finally got out of bed at around 3.30am after the moon had set so I could see the stars and Milky Way. After seeing how many stars you could see I got little big girl out of bed and we both laid outside looking up at the sky.
Once the sun started to rise little monster also got up and me and hubby started to take pictures, there was not very much color to the sky but the clouds were pretty and it was such a sight to see. I have posted one of the sunrise picture to flicker (sunrise).
After sunrise we ate breakfast and took a few more shots around the property ( lensbaby 1 and lensbaby 2)) before heading into the park. We did a short hike at Barker Dam and then opted to go get lunch. The kids started out great on the hike running around and climbing rocks but they ran out of energy pretty quick.
Following lunch we stayed around the property feeding the wild animals (desert gofers, jack rabbits, quail). I have posted a picture of one of the gofers to flicker.
Later in the afternoon I took some pictures of the girls with some of the rusty cars on the property. I took so many photos, this was my favorite, but I posted some additional ones to flicker.

Whilst we were taking pictures of the girls the sky clouded over and we had no sunset at all. Me and the girls slept in the bottle house that night.
