Squirrel!

Watch 'Up'. Don't let the fact it's animated put you off. Wonderful film, and the title of this blip will take on a whole new meaning....

Anyway - I was contemplating giving this blip the title A Strange Sense of Victory. If you've seen my journal before, you may remember me waxing lyrical about Balgay Park. And you may remember my sadness at the fact that the grey squirrels seem to have taken over. Well, on a walk with my friend Paul we did see a grey - a young one, on the observatory hill. But wonderfully, we also saw two reds - also both looked pretty young, and by the way they were squabbling I suspect they were both the same sex. One did a wonderful leap over the path to another tree, sadly missed this - and sadly hadn't brought my zoom lens! I will return....

So I've done my duty and reported it to the rangers - Dundee Red Squirrel Project. It seems that Dundee can still claim to be the only city in the UK with a resident red squirrel population.
