Gran

This is my Grandma. Geordie Gran. She is 91 years old.

She has five children, 13 grand-children and 17 great-grand-children with two more about to arrive any day.

If I'm honest, I don't particularly look forward to visiting her as she doesn't really know who I am anymore. Her hearing is very poor and her eye sight is fading and she is usually quite negative. The last time I saw her she seemed disappointed that she was still alive. How do you respond to that? I visit her more out of a sense of duty and to make myself feel less guilty. Sounds selfish, I know.

However, today she was on really good form and she seemed delighted to see me and my children. We managed to have some sort of conversation and she was more than happy to pose for several photographs. I've promised that I'll take her some copies when we visit next week.

I'm actually looking forward to it.
