Fidel Castero
He calls himself Fidel Castro. I have seen him quite a number of times in the city center in thick military dress carrying loads of baggage on his strong body. Today I had no intentions of portraits too, and wandered for a couple of hours shooting architecture. You will be surprised to know that I saw this guy exactly at the same place (tram stop) where I saw the old man from yesterday's blip. Once again, I couldn't stop and intentionally missed a couple of trams observing him. Finally when I saw no other people around I introduced myself and asked for the pictures. He agreed on the condition that I would send him these pictures. I took him close to the entrance of a shopping mall where the lighting was better. Finally I talked to him for about half and hour. Though my German is too bad but we were understanding each other quite well. He told me few things about his life which I would like to share with you
Mr. Fidel does a volunteer job for the social welfare, for example finding cheap accommodation and arranging aid for poor people. He was carrying a bundle of information brochures -- the kind of information that he provides to the poor people on street. He gets merely 355 euros / month + room rent from state government for this service.
Mr. Fidel is originally from Magdeburg and has done military service in old DDR for 10 years, and from the last 10 years he is doing this volunteer work. Despite of his age, this man was looking very strong not only from appearance but also from enthusiam. Though he kept his age in secret but he told that he was unmarried and had two children.
That's all I know about him right now. I have written down his contact information and we will hopefully see other again and talk in detail.
P.S. Mr. Fidel is against war. His message to me was "Peace".
