My 365 Photography Project

Having received a Canon 1100D as my Christmas Present and being completely brand new to DSLR cameras, Starting on the 1st January 2014, I will take a photo a day for the next 365 days with a ‘nature’ theme.

Why I hear you ask.

People will often say that their whole lives flashed before their eyes after they experienced a traumatic event. Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, but to me that sounds pretty incredible.

Imagine being able to look back at any day of your year and recall what you did, who you met, what you learned… (Often we find it hard to remember what we did just yesterday or even last night, let alone a whole year ago!)

-A year-long photo album will be an amazing way to document travels and accomplishments, haircuts and relationships. Time moves surprisingly fast.

-Taking a photo a day will make a better photographer. Using my camera every day will help me learn its limits. I will get better at composing shots, start to care about lighting, and become more creative with photography when forced to come up with something new every single day.

-This project will not only serve as a way to remember the year, but also help me understand what was important to me during the year.

A photo a day for a whole year will hopefully leave me with a rich visual history of the year. And allow me to become a better photographer to boot!
