Hi, and thank you for stopping by to visit!

I've always enjoyed looking at other people's photographs but I've started taking pictures myself mainly for something to do while my dearly beloved takes pictures. Photography is quite an addictive pastime I've discovered. Although I'm just a beginner I am really enjoying the challenge of trying to find interesting subjects and then comes the even bigger challenge of sorting out my camera settings to get the camera to take the shot! It makes you look at things in a whole new light. Blipfoto has been invaluable for giving me ideas and meeting lots of great people who take amazing pictures on a daily basis - you really are a very talented and lovely bunch!

I'm lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the world so finding things to photograph shouldn't be a problem. Finding time to take photos is a different matter, but I'm working on it...

Other than photography I enjoy listening to and playing music and am a bassoonist by trade. I am also passionate about the outdoors and although I'm not very good at any of it I enjoy attempting to ski when it's snowy and sail when it's a bit warmer.

I hope this journey into the world of photography will allow me to start to acquire the skills to capture some of the amazing things you can see round here on camera, so that when I'm old and doddery I'll have something other than my memory to remember them all with!
