Great Grandad's Compass
This Compass belonged to my wife's father who was not only a boy scout in the 1920s but also an intrepid walker all of his life.
The Compass, now beloved for some reason by his grandchildren, is still used although I admit alongside slightly more modern versions of this brilliant invention.
Photographing it gave me an opportunity to use Christmas presents tripod and remote control. I promise to get better at it. I now realise that maybe I should have asked for some lights!
