Laird of the Loch
A grey day weather wise but we did have a lovely day today. After John's appointment at the Mid Argyll hospital n Lochgilphead we headed for a gentle meander round Blarbuie Wood which is really part of the Argyll & Bute hospital grounds.
These grounds are part of a project involving the patiemts of the A & B and the community and the end result is wonderful . The woods are really inspirational with lots of sculptures, carvings and , I suppose , what might be called artistic installations. The work is done by many of the patients who are there because of mental ill health ; definitely has to be a big step up from the old basket weaving therapy activites. We had a grand time just meandering around the paths , watching newts in the pond , didn't get a proper shot of them as they were too far away. Great fun playing a target game which involved picking up small stones from the woodland and aiming them at an amazing target which had a brass gong set in the middle. Loved the ringing tones of the gong when we managed to hit it. John won that game!
Back home Oscar needed his long walk , despite having had an early morning walk up the woods. This dog really loves being on the shore and that's where today's blip comes from. You will have heard of Monarch of the Glen well I reckon our Oscar is the Laird of the Loch. he lords it over everyone on the shore and in the loch , loves it down thers. So here he is. Hope you like him as much as we do.
Hope your day was as good as ours ,
Mary
