Cage door
A strange one for you.
This is what we put on a kennel door, when an animal has proved to be a little aggressive.
This little doggy bit my nurse today as she was trying to stroke her, and so unfortunately we have to put a wee warning on her cage door so no-one gets hurt.
It's hard for owners to understand sometimes that their animal will react differently whilst away from them, and sometimes it is also difficult for them to appreciate that we have to use restraining methods that prevent our staff becoming injured.
I have had clients walk out in the huff because I have requested permission to muzzle their dogs, after being snapped at.
"He never usually bites", are usually the first words spoken after he has.
Well you would probably bite too if someone stuck a thermometer up your *rse!
However, a frustrating day.
My head nurse is moving on to pastures new.
We are however looking at a lovely nurse who came to see us at the weekend, as her replacement.
Other bad things:
Clients who you spend an inordinate amount of time with trying to explain why their overweight pet with a skin condition is not going to be treated successfully for under £20, and certainly not until they as owners address their feeding regime, and then go off in the huff because you hav told them something they didn't want to hear.......they annoy me!
Good things:
However the ones who you spend a long time with and help their bitch have pups on a Sunday, and then bring you flowers and chocolates the next day, and claim that the bill however large was worth every penny for the service they received........they fill me with the joy of being a vet.
It's nice to be appreciated, and not moaned at because "all vets are just after your money".
Hmm. Well, I don't do it for the good of my health for sure! I do have a family to feed too, and staff to pay, and a surgery to pay for, and bills to pay, and stock to buy..........(but all that gets forgotten because of course we should do it all for free because we love animals......right?)
Rant over.
