Thistle Down

By Ethel

Yourself

A poem...a poem,
Write thee a part.
And keep the feelings,
Of thy heart...from loneliness.

Tell of thy valor,
And of thy dreams.
Cross a wide chasm,
With daring schemes...of bravery.

Sail with a gull,
And light upon a deck.
Take of the grandeur,
And on thy neck...wear laurels.

Dine with a King,
And know of a servants task.
Consume the part of humans,
That rise to ask...the truth.

Then with visual lens,
And every trait aflame.
Lift up the soul of you,
And write your name...in love.
