One speed bump too many

The car had Latvian plates and its undercarriage had catastrophically collapsed. The Latvian driver had actually bought the car in Chicago. I offered my sympathies and tried to buy him a coffee but he politely declined. The AA guy failed to lift the car onto his truck and was calling for reinforcements as I went on my way.
