Trombone

I had auditions for UQ Big Band tonight. Eek! Nah, I think it all went well and it was great to see some familiar faces from last year's band. Auditions have historically (that is to say, since last year, when we started holding auditions) been pretty casual since it was usually just culling the multitude of alto saxes who turned up, and there were no hard feelings because there were always WAY too many. This year though, it turns out that there are 12 trombonists vying for the 4 or 5 spots available in a typical big band arrangement. For those of you unfamiliar with how much competition trombones usually face, this is practically national proportions. Only kidding.
