House Sign #6

This sign can be found on a Cottage, which if you
ever visit Malton, is the last building on the right
as you head out for the A171 toward Pickering.

As the name suggests and is true, this was the Toll Bar
where in the 1600 and 1700 you where obliged to
pay a toll to enter the town, both going in and leaving.

The current owner Christine wishes it was still in
operation, she would be a very rich lady!!!!
