Brave Starling!!

First day of a holiday today, and I have to admit that I was glad to get away from my job! They say change is a good thing, and I agree to an extent. But the past few days and weeks at work have just been horribly stressful. Staff re-locations, breaking up a good working team, moving staff to other wards they never originally applied to work in, and have no desire to do so. Then the stress of having to physically move a ward and all it's contents to a new ward. Everyone upset, unsettled and angry! NOT the best few weeks!

To put the icing on the cake, what would be considered valuable, life enhancing, and essential treatment within the ward, has been deemed not so effective after all, too expensive and unlikely to continue!! Money, money, money! And cutbacks!! Am heartely sick of them!! I dread to think how this will impact our patients!

So I'm glad to be away....to get space to process the level of change that has occurred in such a short space of time. Sigh....



After a very long sleep, and in an effort to cheer myself up...I decided to give a new investment a shot out in the garden....a bird hide!! I've tried to get some bird shots before, but the birds will not come near when I am more visible! Today...with time, two collared doves braved the bird feeder, then this starling, then what I think was a fairly aggressive little chaffinch!! This was the best shot, and for their colour only, I have to admit to being fond of starlings!!!

Today, at least, was a good afternoon!
