Craw

This little guy decided to interrupt my sandwich eating and book reading at lunch today by standing over me making a scary rattling noise.

Being fairly large, black and vocal, crows have quite a lot of folklore behind them, mostly about death. As crows are very common i am pleased to note that I see them all the time and people are not dropping dead all around me. Back in the days when death was far more common and people could not expect to live to old age, it may have been the case that a death often followed a crow sighting. In this particular case I merely took a photo of it and finished my sandwich.
