Day 10
Hey guys
Another long grueling day in Christchurch, The high winds caused us all to wear Face masks to stop the silt getting breathed in.
The government have called off searching for survivors and are now doing body recoveries, this news was a final kick in the gut to many families with the death toll now expected to rise to 240 while it currently sits at 163.
The Rangiora earthquake team did an excellent job today after cleaning tonnes of silt from a street on Avonside and then moving to riccartion. On the way we came across quite a few damaged buildings and army personnel. Even driving past one of the avenues which is cordoned off we could see the Grand Chancelor which is noticeably leaning to the south.
This building here is a church next to one of the northern avenues the numbers 1/3 means 1 survivor 3 dead.
Already I can notice the mood lifting in canterbury. more people are starting to get some sort of work done and soon the government plans to do a walk through of the city in remembrance of those who perished.
My heart is with those who fell to mother nature. RIP
Happy Blipping
