One of those good days.
What a lovely day today has been. I love being a teacher, always have. I'm particularly lucky now because all the teaching I do these days is of the rewarding kind. The best bits without the rubbish (paperwork etc).
My working day was in 3 parts. I spent the morning at the kindergarten I work at (3-6 year olds), teaching English as a second language. This morning was the dress rehearsal for our performance of Saint-Saen's "carnival of the animals". The kids looked amazing in their costumes and all performed really well.
In the afternoon I went to teach my group of 5 children who all speak English. Today we were looking at clouds, learning the 3 main types and making them out of shaving foam (feels gooood!) and cotton wool whilst also looking at the daily cloud photos the children had taken at home over the course of the week.
I then trundled off to the 3rd job of the day, a private E2L/piano lesson for a 7 year old girl. I have never had the privilege to reach someone so talented. She races through the pieces of her book and progresses so quickly. Fantastic.
I am so fortunate. I work with wonderful children, colleagues and parents. My working week is full and tiring but I do not have even one part of a day that I dread. I enjoy it all. Not many people can say that.
Whoever once said "Those who can't , teach" was barking up the wrong tree.
