First Cycled Commute of the Year

The day had finally come - I managed to do my first full commute of the year on my bike, in reasonable light and whether. Admittedly I didn't get time to stop any take any pictures but feel pretty pleased all the same.

My commute from Westbury in Wiltshire to Chippenham is a round trip of 35 miles. I must say the drivers on the road today were very considerate - the quality of the roads on the other hand is very poor and very off-putting. This is a real shame as the bike is a great way of getting from A to B; it keeps you fit and is good for the environment.

It's not very often a man gets to show off his shoes so here are my road cycling shoes laid out on top of my hi-vis jacket. I have included my yellow tinted glasses which I wear in low light conditions. Again I found posterization added a little life to what was otherwise a fairly flat image.

I am determined to get outside with the camera this weekend!
