not one for the vegetarians - the arch that is all that's left of the old Edinburgh meat market.

Almost 53 years ago K and I sat next to each other on the first day at school and today we sat in the same positions but at lunch in bia bistrot. Three old school friends - much nearer 60 than 50 but just slotting back into the easy conversations. And suddenly I'M the thin one - how did that happen? Then to see Mrs S with C - haven't seen her for years. More chat then off to St Mary's to the launch of Sandy McCall Smith's new book. Was ok - but more singing from the Cathedral choir would have been good. Wonderful acoustics, I sang there once.

Wanted to blip inside the Cathedral but too many people going about - so it's back to the meat market.

The mouse actually popped out from beside the fire to-night - now THAT would be a good blip!
