A look in the casing where the coupling between main alternator shaft and lube oil generator is situated.
The lube oil generator has to be exchanged with a new one because the old one became overheated due to a production fault.
After removing the cover of the casing we had to direct the oil nozzles downwards and after that we could start the main lube oil pump again.
A bit later we could stop the turning gear of the main shaft of the unit for a short time while the maintenance department looses the coupling bolts.
Here an overview.
Because the unit is still hot we only are allowed to stop the shaft for a short time, that's why we have to stay in close contact with the central control room.
At the left: the (ball) bearing of the lube oil generator.
Near the hands: the oil nozzles pointing down, in the middle: RPM pick up for the generator, at the right: a bearing.
Here is the lube oil generator and an explanation.
