knives with lapis handles

After a long and whirling week, we had a successful dinner party with some good friends we hadn't seen in a while. As it's still carnival season I reprised the etouffee and macque choux menu for new diners. Everyone's gone home and the wine glasses are washed and dried. It's almost midnight and I have not touched a camera. I could skip it and go to bed, but I have not missed a day since I started. So here's a quick blip from my kitchen. These hand made knives have handles of lapis lazuli and a handmade wooden base. My father got them from the artist years ago. He never let us use them, but since he's not here to complain, I do use them sometimes.
