Promenade Plantée--Paris
A chilly but very sunny day in that produced a multitude of possible blips.
This is the best shot from our our long walk on the Promenade Plantée--a brand new experience for me. It's a 4.5 kilometer elevated path constructed along an abandoned rail viaduct leading from the Bastille to Paris's eastern suburbs, fro 1987 to 2000.
It's essentially three stories high and thus provides interesting perspectives on the buildings along the way--some very close. Don't miss the series of chimneys on the typical buildings on the left in this blip--they are a favorite aspect of Paris for me. View them large.
That was after lunch-- the morning was spent at the Marché d'Aligre Beauvau close to the Bastille--a covered market with a long open-air section next to it. Simply the best market I've experienced in Paris!
All this was with our long-time English friends Anne and Charley. They went on with Marylee to the Musée d'Art Moderne, while I went home to nurse a lingering cold.
