Out (Mid) West

its a grind

had a super - no! stupendous meal at Sushi Club - i still contend that this is the best place in yyc...

On the way home there were some good potential photos - however (whinger that I am) i was carrying my trusty 5dII with the salivatory 85mm lens - perfect. BUT @ -20 (plus wind chill) operating it without gloves is not fun. worse than not fun - pretty near impossible. I know - there are lots of antarctic penguin photos - documented @-65 - but I was just hacking back from a rather fine meal - not living in Shackleton's cabin for 6 moths of antarctic winter....

To put this in context - I can get to the car and back in 30-40 seconds (and start it to warm up) - assuming it is plugged in - without major cold weather gear - but 30 seconds is it. More than that it all becomes rather difficult.... After that - it becomes a problem - ie door is iced up and the planned 30 seconds becomes two minutes.... not trivial......

OK enough of the whinging - but all you temperate-climate people - be aware of the pain your innocent crocus photos cause... (or any other bulb for that matter....)
