Stone circle: Photographer's Picnic!

I eagerly monitored the weather forecast yesterday and went to bed anticipating clear blue skies when I woke up. I spent a long time thinking about where I could go for sunrise as I normally combine my photography with a walk. I decided that I would go to Castlerigg Stone Circle having not been there to take photos since I was 16.
Again it was another early start and the sky wasn't as clear as I'd hoped. I'm afraid I was dismayed when I arrived as, like the title suggests the circle was surrounded by photographers with some serious kit! I jostled to find a spot to put my tripod taking great care with my etiquette (not walking across anyone or getting in their shots, being polite and courteous), what an intimidating bunch! I spent the next hour feeling very out of my depth, and being unable to capture the shot I wanted as it would have interfered with their shots.
So I'm afraid this is my best effort as I left shortly afterwards due to my camera battery dying and my waterproof trousers making noises like a whoopee cushion which only served to make me feel even more self-conscious than I already felt.
The only adjustments I've made to the photo is the cropping. I'm aware that parts of the picture are overexposed but as an amateur I'm pleased with the results I got with the little kit that I do have.
The story doesn't end here though as I thought I'd go and practice taking pictures of waterfalls and capturing moving water instead and leave the pros to it. I went to Spout Force, one of Cumbria's less well known waterfalls. I know why now, it was difficult to get to and there was nothing but a trickle of water to see today for my efforts and not worth getting the camera out. I think today has been one of those better luck next time moments.
