'Smoking prevents sore throats' - Craven

Spotted this old poster advert for Craven A cigarettes while at the Royal Over-Seas League in Edinburgh for a friend's 50th birthday. With the benefit of today's scientific and regulatory rigour, such a claim looks fairly dated.

Over-Seas House, at 100 Princes Street was originally built as the Windsor (Temperance) Hotel in the late 19th Century. The Royal Over-Seas League bought the premises in 1927.
