Drop

Dutch people love licorice, or "Drop" as we call it. Therefore the Netherlands has the highest consumption of licorice in the world: 32 million kilos, which amounts to 2 kilos per person per year! The Dutch eat both sweet and salty versions of the candy.

As Drop is really hard to get in Belgium, I make family and friends bring me some when they visit us and I buy a supply for myself when I'm in the Netherlands. This box of Drop is named after the town where I went to high school.
