East Lansing State of Mind
I guess technically we're the second best high school quartet in Michigan hehe.
Today was the MSBOA Michigan high school chamber orchestra festival at Michigan State University. The day began by waking Justin, our cello, from a deep sleep. We got a $5 pizza from Union Pizza, a sweet deal. Man, the MSU student union is nice. The afternoon consisted of a master classes, one-on-one time with Mr. Uchimara from the Merling Trio (funniest/scariest guy ever), literature exploration, and a performance by the Merling Trio. This pic is of them. They are faculty from Western Michigan University, and they are excellent.
The day concluded with the competiton. We played almost up to our full potential. It felt good. I remember being in the warmup room 10 minutes before we would go onstage, thinking to myself, I never thought when I started playing eight years ago that I would be anywhere close to where I am now. I'm on heaven's doorstep, and I'll savor my days in the Troy High orchestra as long as I still have them. Music is good.
Peace.
