Drystane Dyke

In celebration ....
This beautiful stone dyke is being built in the back yard where I'm staying. It will have a stock proof fence above it as both sheep and cattle roam the woods and hills behind. The steps and gate will give access to numerous quiet walks and climbs. The craftsmanship in the dyke is amazing, a talented guy who takes a pride in his work. And the local stones of varying types make an interesting mosaic. How wonderful to have that talent in your hands. Seems to me it can be celebrated as a living art form, once the moss and ferns take hold it will evolve into a different kind of beauty.
