Transformation

Somehow I have managed to live basically my entire life up until this point without realizing how butterflies actually, actually come to be. Here is this thing, that chrysalis (with the folded up little butterfly) is INSIDE the caterpillar skin already!!

My mind just exploded. Do you understand what this means?! The butterfly...inside the chrysalis...is walking around covered in a caterpillar skin....until such a time as it sheds those skins (one at a time of course)! RIDICULOUS!! I had no idea.

This process is too much for me to handle. I am just amazed at the insanity of all those little layers already being there. Less of a thing changing from one thing into another thing, and more of it becoming what it was all along. Mind boggling! This is why I could not choose just one picture for today - had to show the whole thing :)
