To make my dress a bit more 'bling' I decided to add a sash of pleading across the front. This feature wasn't included in the pattern, so it was up to me to work out how to do it on my own. On the mock up, I laboriously handsewed every pleat onto the dress. This was a mistake. Not only was it SLOW, but also very difficult to fit it nicely to the shape of the dress. So, although it is a little heavier on fabric, I came up with a method that allows me to make a 'sheet' of pleats that I can then attach to the dress.

So, this has been today's task. Again, no marker lines allowed, so all lines have to be sewn. It will take a while, but far less frustrating than sewing the pleats directly onto the dress.
